CHEAM SANATORIUM
The Sanatorium is situated at North Che .in, and normally has accommodatior
for 93 ndult patients of both sexes.0 Men 53 and Women 40.
Owing to the blackout
arrangements the number of beds now available is; 48 Men and 37 Women.

At the beginning of 1940 there were 70 patients in Cheam Sanatorium. During
the year 150 were admitted and 128 discharged, whilst 12 died, thus Living 80
patients in at the end of 1940.
There were 8 observation cases sunt in 4 males and 4 females. Of the 4
males 1 was not tuberculous, and of the 4 females 2 were not tuberculosis therefore
there wore three observation cases in non-tuberculous cases which are shown above.
The 5 that were tuberculous are in with the tuberculous cases and are not
shown as observation.
Artificial pneumothorax cases discharged but still under treatment, 6 males,
17 females (see above), making total discharges Male3 66, females 74.
These Artificial pneumothorax cases only refer to oases discharged in 1940.
those discharged in 1939 and still having refills have not been included.
