WATER
The water supply is drawn from deep wells in the chalk.
Those wells are situated in Surrey Street, Stroud Green, Waddon,
Selhurst and Addington. A portion of the northern side of the
Borough obtains water supplies from the Metropolitan Water Board.
The amount of water consumed during the year was

The same arrangements regarding samples as were commenced
in 1938 continued in 1940.
LABORATORY, AMBULANCE, NURSING FACILITIES, HOSPITALS,ETC .
There have boon no changes in the Laboratory,
Ambulance and Nursing Facilities in the home since my report, in
1939- Nor are there any changes to record in the Hospital beds
available other than that the lt.0 bods at Che am Sanatorium taken
over by the Emergency Hospital Service in 1939 were released
for their original use.
All the Clinics have continued throughout the year,
and the Tonsils and Adenoids Clinic at the Croydon General
Hospital, which wan discontinued on the outbreak of war,
reopened in November 1939: It Was closed again in August 1940.
