In addition to the purely medical and surgical aspects, it was
found that the whole of the heating arrangements throughout the
hospital were inefficient and this has necessitated the installation
of a complete modern hot water heating system, together with a
central boiler and engine house.
The order in which the extensions and alterations at Mayday
Hospital will be carried out is as follows:—
Firstly, the Boiler House together with the whole of the new
heating system. This is already well in hand. Before the heating
system, however, is completed the new ward block will be begun.
