It will be seen that only 275 definitely Tubercular patients
have been admitted to institutions during the year, compared with
357 during 1932. The difference is not so great as would appear,
as in the previous year if a case was transferred from one institution
'to another it was counted as a new admission, whereas this year
such cases were not counted as fresh admissions. For the same
reason the difference in discharges appears greater than is actually
the case. In spite of this new method of recording fewer cases
received institutional treatment than in 1932.
