include them in their consideration of the Centres as these are
finally established. Also, the Clinics now carried on in the Town
Hall, viz., Dental and Eye Clinics, take up a complete week of
time, and should be transferred from the Town Hall to the main
Centre in the middle of the town. In addition to centralising the
Clinical medical work of the Department this will give the
additional advantage of freeing accommodation in the Town Hall.

The following list shows what, in my opinion, the various Centres should finally be and the activities carried on at each such Centre:—

4. Combined St. Alban's and Grange Hall CentresNorth of Thornton Heath ClockMaternity and Infant Centre. (?) Minor Ailments (School Children).
5. Upper NorwoodOaknoll, or its neighbourhoodMaternity and Infant Centre. Minor Ailments (School Children).
6. South Norwood Centre and Woodside CentrePortland Road, midway between Woodside and Norwood Junction Stations, or in the same' block of buildings as the suggested Nursery School at the Schools in Portland RoadMaternity and Infant Centre. Minor Ailments Clinic (School Children). Dental Clinic (Mothers, Children and Infants). Massage Clinic (Infants and Children). Spinal Remedial Class.
7. East Croydon CentreIn the neighbourhood of the present siteMaternity and Infant Centre.

*As an alternative the Committee might consider the establishment of a
Creche in conjunction with the suggested Nursery School at Mitcham
Road Council School. In either case the Creche would replace the
existing one at Pitlake.
