SALE OF FOOD AND DRUGS ACTS.
During the year 339 samples of milk (335 new and 4 skimmed
or separated) were taken. In 24 cases the samples were below the
standard suggested by the Board of Agriculture.
Proceedings were instituted in respect of 9 of these samples,
and fines and costs were imposed on the vendors to the extent of
£45 0s. Od. The other 15 samples were only slightly below the
standard suggested by the Board of Agriculture.
In 8 cases the vendors were written to asking for an explanation,
and in all cases subsequent samples were taken.
