and 207 children were specially examined.
This does not include the special examinations done at the Treatment
Centre.
ATTENDANCE OF PARENTS OR GUARDIANS.
The latter were present to the number of 3,530 for 6,255 children
examined,
i.e., 56.4 per cent.,
compared with 58.34 per cent. for the year 1916.
DIRECTIONS TO PARENTS.
In 3,484 instances written and verbal directions were sent to parents,
while in 3,854 instances printed directions were given.
