II.—VITAL STATISTICS.
Births.
The number of Births registered in the District was
1466, as compared with 1513 last year, and 1487 in
1908. Of this number 29 children were registered as
being illegitimate. This gives an illegitimate birth-rate
of 1.9 per cent. of total births, as against 2.1 last year.
This should be considered very satisfactory.
