Mortality at Different Ages.
Infantile Mortality.—The number of infants under
the age of one year who died during 1908 was 126, as
against 170 in 1907, 199 in 1906, 138 in 1905, 158
in 1904, 109 in 1903, the infantile mortality rate,
therefore, being 84 per thousand births, as against 103
in 1907, 124 in 1906, 98 in 1905, 123 in 1904, 94 in
1903, and an average of 117 in the ten years 1898 to
1907.
