A complaint was received at the Public Health
Department regarding the water supply at a works
canteen. Samples taken from the tap and geyser, and
sent for bacteriological examination were reported as
of good quality.
A Sample taken from a new well at a factory was
sent for chemical analysis and reported as being of bad
organic quality. While this, well was opened for purely
industrial purposes it was considered advisable to have
it analysed, so that warning could be given as to the
danger of using the water for drinking purposes.
Extensions have been made to serve temporary
housing sites in Lincoln Close.
Drainage and Sewerage.
Extensions of foul sewers to serve temporary
housing scheme No. 1 and 2., Aylings Estate and Slade
Green. Extension of surface water sewer to serve Whitehall
Lane Section of Temporary housing scheme No. 2.
Rivers and Streams.
The usual maintenance clearing was carried out on
the River Cray and the dykes, on the Crayford Marsh,
and the sluices maintained and operated to drain the
low-lying areas.

reduced to once in every ten days.
