MEAT AND OTHER FOODS.
Local slaughterhouses are closed owing to the Centralised
Slaughtering Scheme of the Ministry of Food.

The bulk of this foodstuff was diverted to other
channels, e.g., Animal feeding.
The Control of Rodents and Other Pests.
In addition to work under the Rats and Mice (Destruction)
Act, 1919, such work as mosquito control and
general disinfestations were given careful attention.
During the year the following infestations were dealt with:—

* Infestations in these cases were Anderson
Shelters.
Mosquito Control—40 gallon metal drums—treatments 338.
300 gallon concrete tanks—treatments 156.
On the initial survey 96 per cent, of the metal drums
and 67 per cent, of the concrete tanks contained mosquito
larvae.
