Milk.
50 pounds (dry milk) of milk were granted to Clinic
mothers and children during the year either free or at
less than cost price.
Wartime Nurseries.
The first nursery was opened in temporary quarters
at Crayford House, on the 8 th June, 1942, and transferred
on the 27th July, 1942, to Shenstone.
The second nursery to serve the Slade Green Area
was not opened until the 11th January, 1943.
The attendances at the Crayford nursery were 5,892.
At the end of the year there were 63 children on the
register.
Government Evacuation Scheme.
Number of expectant mothers evacuated 1
Number of children under 5 evacuated 3
Total number of children evacuated 8
Home Helps.
Home helps have carried out their duties satisfactorily
to 12 families during the year.
Maternal Mortality.
138 women attended the Clinic. The total number of
attendances during the year was 586.
Clothing Coupons.
During the year 28,260 clothing coupons have been
issued to 503 expectant mothers.
Maternity and Nursing Homes.
Of the 441 live births 280 occurred at Institutions and
127 of these at the Crayford Russell-Stoneham Memorial
Hospital.
