INFANT MORTALITY
There were 28 deaths of infants under one year of age in 1962,
which was the same as in the previous year. The infant mortality
rate for the year was 20.6 per 1.000 total live births, which is
slightly lower than the rate of 21.4 for the country as a whole.
The table which follows gives the Chislehurst and Sidcup
mortality rate for legitimate and illegitimate infants, as well as for
all infants, and also shows the comparison between the infant
mortality rate in the Urban District and that of England and Wales
during the past 10 years.
