During 1957 there were 514 lettings as follow
(a) Permanent dwellings144 families from waiting list.
(b) Prefabricated dwellings13 families from waiting list.

The figure of 514 lettings includes the housing of 104 families
from Corke's Meadow and 253 transfers which have been effected
owing to the housing of these families and from various types of
Council controlled property. During the year fourteen families
have been admitted to the Halfway Houses.
It will be noted that a reduction of twenty is shown in
the number of prefabricated dwellings. These have been
demolished preparatory to permanent development.
The reduction of the total of requisitioned properties and
Halfwav Houses indicates the number released durine the vear.
