The following figures indicate the use being made of the service :—

19551956
Individual cesspools emptied239242
(many of these on a number of occasions) Total number of emptyings748750
Total number of loads removed1,6641,919

This represents a total of 1,151,400 gallons of sewage dealt
with.
It will be seen that despite a reduction in the number of
cesspools in the area, the use made of the service shows a modest
increase. This may be due to action taken by the Department to
persuade the householders concerned of the necessity for fully
utilising the facility provided.

following new drainage works have been carried out, or adopted,
by the Council during the year.

215 yards 9" surface water sewer with 4 manholes adopted.
