As in other hospitals within the district, voluntary service is
rendered by many organisations. The newly formed " Friends of
Queen Mary's Hospital" are particularly active and have taken
charge of a mobile telephone for the use of patients.
Sidcup Cottage Hospital.
A General Practitioner hospital with 11 Medical, 1 " Section
4," and 1 " Section 5 " beds.
The above hospitals are within the area of the Sidcup Hospital
Management Committee of the South East London Region.
Grove Park Hospital.
There are six blocks of this hospital within the area of the
Urban District. 233 of the beds concerned are used for tuberculous
patients, whilst the remaining 32 are reserved for non-tuberculous
thoracic patients. All 265 beds are fully used.
This hospital comes within the area of the Lewisham Group
of the South East London Region.
Venereal Diseases.
Patients are referred to the various hospitals with specialist
clinics for dealing with these diseases. None of these clinics are
situate within the Urban District.
COUNTY COUNCIL SERVICES.
Ambulance Service.
The district is served by the Ambulance Depot at Bromley,
with a sub-depot at Main Road, Sidcup, where ambulances and
sitting case cars are available. These vehicles are radio controlled.
Domestic Help Service.

The District Organiser's office is at 69, Sidcup Hill, Sidcup. The following is a summary of the cases assisted during 1956 :—
