NURSING HOMES.

There have been no changes during the year. Details of the six nursing homes in the area registered at 31.12.56 are given below.

The homes were inspected at frequent intervals during the
year, and at no time were any contraventions found which called
for action on the part of the local authority.
All but three of the beds are for medical or surgical cases, and
the majority of patients are aged sick or aged infirm.
PUBLIC CONVENIENCES.
The Public Health Department is responsible for the cleaning
of the undermentioned conveniences used by the public :—

Recreation Ground, Mottingham.
A staff of one part-time and three whole-time cleaners is
employed for this work.
Work was commenced on a new public convenience on the
L.C.C. estate at St. Paul's Cray, and a further building will be
erected in Mottingham, during 1957.
