No Closing Orders have been made. General Closing days
vary throughout the district as follow:—
Wednesday—St. Paul's Cray Estate (.except Leith Hill), All Chislehurst,
The Oval, Lamorbey and Lewis Road, Sidcup.
Thursday—Other areas.
It is noted that a number of individual shopkeepers have
exercised their right to remain open on the usual early closing day
and to close on Saturday afternoons.
RAG FLOCK AND OTHER FILLING MATERIALS ACT,
1951.
There are no premises in the district licensed under the Rag,
Flock Act.
PET ANIMALS ACT, 1951.
Licences to sell pet animals were issued in respect of 7 premises.
Supervision of these shops has entailed 32 visits.
Unsatisfactory conditions developed at one of these premises,
but it was closed by the owner before any formal action became
necessary.
Allegations concerning the sale of pets by an unauthorised
person were investigated, but no contravention of the Act was
revealed.
RODENT CONTROL.
In common with other districts similarly situated, the usual
increase in the activity of rats in the Spring of the year reached
considerably higher proportions than is usual. This was dealt with
by the Inspectors and the Rodent Operative, as a result of which,
the level of infestations was reduced to normal by the Autumn.
