The following figures, which give some indication of the major trend of sickness in the area during 1954, have been furnished by the Ministry of National Insurance.

In conformity with the usual experience it will be noticed that
the greatest incidence of illness occurred during the months of
January and February, after which there was a steady fall until
August, following which another rise occurred.
