UNEMPLOYMENT.
I am indebted to the Manager of the Local Employment
Exchange for the following information in respect of the year
1954:—
"There has been a great improvement in the unemployment
position during 1954. The registers have dropped considerably.
Such unemployment as there has been is due to age—particularly
the over 60's—indifferent health and domestic circumstances.
There is, generally speaking, plenty of work for the young, fit and
able."
