The Health Visitors are responsible for Welfare Centres,
Clinics in connection with immunisation against diphtheria and
vaccination against smallpox, etc., and carry out home visiting in
connection with Child Life Protection, After Care. etc.
Midwifery (Domiciliary).
Eight Midwives are engaged whole time in the area. The
services of the midwives are engaged direct by the patient, or
through the patient's private doctor. The midwives act either as
midwives or maternity nurses.
The County Council is the supervising authority under the
National Health Service Act. 1946.
Domestic Help Service.
Demands for this service are still high, especially for cases of
illness in the home and for old people. Provision is also made
for domestic help during a home confinement.
