Speech Therapy.
I am indebted to Miss Joan Pollitt, Senior Speech Therapist
to the Kent Education Committee for the following
report:—
Ninety children, who are under the care of the Bexley
Authority, have been dealt with within the Speech Therapy
Services during the year.
The cases of thirty-nine children have been closed and
fifty are continuing to attend into 1960.
Of the thirty-nine closed cases, thirty-seven have been
under the care of the Murchison Avenue Clinic and two
have attended at Sidcup.
The cases of the thirty-nine children have been closed
for the following reasons:—
Satisfactory results following appointments at
the clinic 29
Treatment incomplete; owing to the family
leaving the district or for other reason 5
Consultation followed by appropriate recommendation

Found to have improved when first seen by
therapist 1
Appointments offered but never kept 1
Left district prior to appointments being offered 2

Forty-seven of the fifty-one children who continue to
attend into 1960, are being seen at the Murchison Avenue
Clinic and four are being seen at the Sidcup Clinic.
