Social Amenities.
The Corporation supplies the district with electricity,
and the South Suburban Gas Company supplies
gas.

The following public open spaces have been provided by the Corporation : —

and other smaller open spaces giving a total of over
425 acres. The value of these "lungs" is, and will be,
more appreciated as the remaining fields and orchards
of the Borough become covered by more dwellings every
year.
Facilities for outdoor games are provided or to be
provided in many of these open spaces, including the
new large Swimming Pool in Danson Park, opened in
July, 1936.

The Registrar General's Estimate of poulation for
the mid-year of 1938 of 77,020 is used for the production
of these figures.
