PROFESSIONAL NURSING IN THE HOME.
A voluntary nursing association functions in each of
the three Wards, and each provides a nurse for general
nursing in the Home.
Funds are provided entirely by voluntary contribution
and the work carried out by these nurses is very
highly appreciated.
The Council do not provide a whole-time nurse for
nursing cases of Infectious Disease in the Home, hut will
consider any application for the services of such a person
and, if it is necessary, will provide a nurse as the need
arises.
Midwives.
The Council do not employ or subsidise midwives.
The number of Midwives practising in the
Area is 6.
