WORK OF THE CHEST CLINICS
I have pleasure in submitting the following report and Table on
the work of the Chest Clinics during the year under review, forwarded
to me by Dr. D. G. Madigan, Chest Physician, to whom I express
my thanks:—
"Very little comment on the actual figures is necessary,
except to note that five new contacts were found to be suffering
from Tuberculosis out of a total of 185 examined. This emphasises
the importance of routine contact examination.
My remarks in previous Annual Reports regarding the
necessity for complete co-operation of the patient in taking
anti-Tuberculosis drugs must still be underlined. The progress
already achieved in the control of the disease will be difficult to
maintain without this co-operation."
