The large increase in time spent by the Sanitary Inspectors on
meat inspection at the slaughterhouses is reflected in the reduction
of work referred to in this Section of the report. The difficulties
in the Department have been accentuated by the inability to fill a
vacancy and by further reduction in the inspectorial staff as a
result of resignation.
