Maternal Mortality.
4 deaths occurred in child-birth—2 from puerperal sepsis
and 2 from other accidents or diseases of parturition.
One of the deaths from puerperal sepsis occurred under condtions
which, as far as could be ascertained, were almost perfect.
the confinement occurred in a nursing home and the patient was
under a doctor throughout the latter part of her pregnancy.
One of the deaths was due to ruptured ectopic gestation.
The fourth death occurred from haemorrhage and shock following
removal of placenta.
