Isolation Hospitals are provided by the Metropolitan Asylums Board, and residents of Hampstead suffering from infectious disease are usually
sent to the North-Western Hospital which is within the Borough, and is situate at Lawn Road, in No. 2 (Belsize) Ward.
A number of Consumptives were removed to the Hampstead Workhouse Infirmary, others to the Mount Vernon Hospital; the remainder
being sent to Sanatoria in various parts of the country.
