The number of births was eight viz four males and four females The birth
rate was 103 per 1000 which is 105 per 1000 below the average for the previous
five years
The death rate for 1921 was 155 per 1000 per annum The number of deaths
of children under one year per 1000 births was 125 as against 93 for the City
generally

and has since been falling as shown by the following figures :—

The baths provided for the use of tenants of these Buildings which were
opened in May 1904 continue to be extensively used the number of persons
bathing during 1921 being 10791 of whom 3738 were males and 7053 were
females
