The number of new patients attending the hospitals during the year 1933 was
28,714, of whom 4,710 were suffering from syphilis, 12,104 from gonorrhoea, and 195
from soft chancre, while 11,705 were diagnosed as not suffering from these diseases.
A summary of the work done by the hospitals for each of the areas in the joint scheme during the year 1933 is shown in the following table:—
