In respect of the treatment of otorrhœa at the special ionisation centres, Dr.
A. G. Wells reports as follows :—" At the end of the summer term Dr. Friel, who had
been giving 5 sessions per week asked to be released of 3 of them, and is now giving
2 only. Dr. Sandiford was appointed to take 3 sessions and has been at work since
the beginning of the winter term.
Treatment of
Otorrhœa
by ionisation,
etc.
" The work done by the aurists shows a small increase over that recorded in the
previous year, 1926. The south-eastern district still has by far the largest 'waiting
list,' and four sessions per week are being continued in this division, while the northwestern
division is receiving two only. Further provision for ionisation is desirable
in all divisions with the possible exception of the eastern division, but the divisions
most in need of further sessions are the south-eastern and the south-western. The
following tables show the particulars of the work in connection with the cases of
ear discharge and deafness:—
