It will be seen from the foregoing table that in the period 1906-10 and the yoar 1911 Shoreditch
(149 and 170 respectively) had the highest infantile death-rates and Hampstead (70 and 78
respectively) had the lowest. The deaths under one year of age per 1,000 births, during each of the
four quarters of the year,were as follows:—First quarter 108; second quarter 89; third quarter 203 ;
fourth quarter 113.
