It will be seen from the foregoing table that the diarrhoea death-rate was highest in
Shoreditch (1.08) and lowest in the City of London (0.08). The diarrhoea death-rates in London
in each of the four quarters of the year 1902 were as follows—first quarter 0.12; second quarter
0.15; third quarter 1.42; and fourth quarter 0.44 per 1,000 living.
Erysipelas.
The deaths from erysipelas registered in the administrative county of London during
1902 (53 weeks) numbered 183 ; the corrected annual average of the preceding ten years was
236.
