The majority of the children included in the above tables were brought by school officers
of the London County Council under powers conferred upon them by the Education Act, 1944.
Payment is made by the London County Council at the rate of two shillings per child in
respect of verminous conditions, and one shilling per bath for those suffering from scabies.
