The application of this Section to unfit houses is still having a good effect ON the
owners of adjoining properties, and I am pleased to be able to report that many houses have
been reconditioned without the service of notice by the Council; and so more work has been
accomplished than is actually shown in the accompanying table.
In consequence, there has been an increase in the number of voluntary specifications
submitted under Section 51, and I am pleased to report these have generally been carried out
satisfactorily.
Considerable time has been given to advising house owners and builders upon making
their houses to comply with the Housing Act.
