The corresponding rate for the previous year was 11.9 and the average yearly death
rate of the Borough for the previous five years was 12.9 per 1000 of population.
The actual number of deaths registered as having taken place in the Borough during the
year was 2,979. This number has to be corrected by the exclusion of 933 deaths which
occurred in the Borough of persons who were not St. Pancras residents, and by the inclusion
of 555 deaths of residents which occurred and were registered outside the Borough.
The corrected figure is therefore 2,601 and is used in calculating the death rate in this
report.
In Table 1, on page 98, will be found details of the corresponding figures for previous
years.
