PUBLIC HEALTH (MILK AND CREAM) REGULATIONS, 1912 AND 1917.
Report for Year ended 31st December, 1926.

1. Milk, and Cream not sold as Preserved Cream.

(a) Number of samples examined for the presence of a preservative.(V) Number in which a preservative was reported to be present.

Nature of preservative in each ease in column (b), and action taken under Regulations in regard to it:—
C. 199. Cream. 0.158 per cent. of boron trioxide, equal to 0.280 per cent. of boric acid.
A. 223. Cream. 0.107 per cent. of boron trioxide, equal to 0.189 per cent. of boric acid.
A warning letter was addressed to the vendors by order of the Public Health Committee. No
legal proceedings were instituted.
2. Cream sold as Preserved Cream.
(a) Instances in which samples have been submitted for analysis to ascertain if the statements
on the labels as to Preservatives were correct:—
(i) Correct statements made 14
(ii) Statements incorrect —
