DEATHS.
The net number of St. Pancras deaths registered during the year was 2,680; this equals
an annual death-rate of 12.4 per 1,000 of population.
The average yearly death-rate of the Borough during the previous five years was 13.1
per 1,000 of population.
The actual number of deaths registered as having occurred in the Borough during the
year 1926 was 2,992. This figure has to be corrected by the exclusion of 855 deaths which
occurred in the Borough of persons who were not St. Pancras residents, and by the inclusion
of 543 deaths of residents which occurred and were registered outside the Borough.
The corrected figure of 2,680 is used in calculating the death-rates in this report.
In Table 1, on page 78, will be found details of the corresponding figures for previous
years.

Cause of Death. The principal causes of death during the year are stated in the following table, and, for comparison, the figures and averages for the previous 10 years are also given: —
