None of these specimens contained tubercle bacilli.
The heavy growth of bacteria at 22 deg. C. and 37 deg. C. were due to large numbers of
B. proteus.
Specimens 38 and 39 were from the milk of individual cows taken from the pail in the
cowshed. Specimen 40 was taken in the adjoining retail shop from the mixture of the same
milk of these two and other cows in the cowshed.
