BIRTHS.
The number of births registered in the borough during 1915 was 4,458.
From information received from the Registrar-General, the excess of birthsto
parishioners occurring outside the borough over births to non-parishioners
occurring inside the borough was 296.
The net number of births for St. Pancras registered during 1915 was,
therefore 4,754, making an annual birth-rate of 21.8 per 1,000 total population,
or 23.7 per 1,000 civil population.
The following table shows the number of births thus corrected, and the
birth-rate for each of the four Registration Sub-Districts and eight wards
into which the Borough is divided, and also the corresponding rates in former years.
In this table from 1911 onwards the transferred births referred to above are allocated to the Sub-Districts and Wards, in proportion to their respective populations, but some of the births which took place in St. Pancras Institutions are not re-distributed, but are allocated to the Districts in which the Institutions are situated.
