Inhabited House Duty.
Inland Rtvenue Act, 1903.
Applications for certificates under Section 11 of the above Act (dealing
with the abatement of Inhabited House Duty in the case of certain tenement
dwellings) were received by the Medical Officer of Health during 1915 in
respect of 3 blocks of dwellings.
The certificates required, are to the effect " that the house is so constructed
as to afford suitable accommodation for each of the families or persona
inhabiting it, and that due provision is made for their sanitary requirements."
Certificates were granted and refused as follows : —

Canal Boats Acts.
The inspection of canal boats h is been done by Inspector Auger. During
the year he inspected 55 boats, registered to carry. 119 adults and 59 children,
and actually carrying 92 adults and 62 children.
Contraventions were found on 5 boats, 4 in rcspect of certificates and one in
respect of overcrowding.
