In addition to these 138, nine patients who had institutional treatment in
1913 were re-admitted for farther treatment during 1914.
Results of treatment.—Most of the after-care of the patients who have had
sanatorium treatment lias been done through the panel doctors. The
approved dispensaries have not been much used for this purpose. The cases
have all been visited by the borough tuberculous visitors, who have made
careful inquiries into the progress of the patients and given such assistance
as thev were able.
The condition in June, 1915 (as judged by the tuberculosis visitor) of the 138 insured persons (adults) who were reported to the department as having been sent to sanatorium or hospital during 1914, was as follows:–

All the 3 children sent away by the London County Council in 1914 were
improved in June, 1915, and of the two adults (women) one was dead and one
had relapsed after improvement.
