The Wards are set out below in order according to their death-rates for tuberculosis:—

When this table is compared with that for the general death-rate (page 18),
it will be seen that the difference between the best and worst wards is much
more marked in the case of the tuberculosis death-rate than in the case of the
general death-rate. Moreover the order of the wards is not the same.
Ward 1 suffered least in both cases, but whereas Ward 6 (Somers Town) had
much the highest general death-rate it is distinctly better than either Ward 5
or Ward 8 in regard to deaths from consumption.
