The inspection of all other workshops and factories (including bakehouses
and restaurant kitchens) is carried out by the District Inspectors. All the
work in the above tables, less Miss Bibby's visits, was done by them.
Bakehouses.—At the end of the year there were 132 workshop bakehouses on
the register, including 101 underground bakehouses. The list of bakehouses
(including 5 factory bakehouses, and 3 bakehouses in hotels) was inserted in
last year's annual report (p. 179).
In 1913, 249 inspections and 255 re-inspections of bakehouses were made
by the District Inspectors.
Restaurant Kitchens.—At the end of the year 175 restaurant kitchens were
included in the register. 141 inspections and 79 re-inspections of them
were made during the year, principally in the Whitfield Division of Ward 7.
INSPECTION OF FOOD AND FOOD-PLACES.
Sale of Food and Drugs Acts.

750 samples have been taken under these Acts, and 674 of these proved to be genuine and 76 adulterated. The details are given in the following table: —
