All cases have been visited and enquiries made. In view of the absence of
evidence of the spread of the disease by infected articles, disinfection has
not been insisted on in recent cases.
In none of the 9 cases notified in 1913 was any definite cause found and no
history pointing to infection from previous cases or "carriers" except that
two cases (onset of first early in June, and onset of second on 14th August)
occurred in the same block of modern flats, though in distinct and separate
flats.
