(1) The St. Pancras Dispensary. A full account of the tuberculosis
dispensary here was given in the Chief Clerk's report published in the annual
report for last year. This institution has been approved by the Local
Government Board under Sec. 16 (1) (a) of the National Insurance Act. It is
managed by a special committee consisting of six representatives of the
Borough Council, six of the parent dispensary committee, the Medical Officer
of Health, the Consulting Physician, the Woman Inspector and three other
members, and by reason of an agreement made on 11th April, 1913, the
Borough Council have undertaken to take over the tuberculosis dispensary if
the dispensary committee fail to maintain it to the satisfaction of the Local
Government Board.
On 21st June, 1913, the Borough Council were informed by the Local
Government Board that the Board would make a capital grant of £278
towards the cost of establishing the tuberculosis dispensary. This amount was
later forwarded to the Borough Treasurer and paid over to the dispensary.
On 14th October, 1913, the Secretary of the dispensary addressed a letter to the
Borough Council asking that a grant be made by the Council to the dispensary
in respect of the treatment of non-insured St Pancras cases. This matter
was under consideration by the Council at the close of the year.
The dispensary on the 29th November, 1913, received a communication
from the London Insurance Committee offering a grant of £80 in respect of
the treatment of insured persons up to 14th July, 1914.
Throughout the year the dispensary has worked in close and cordial touch
with the Public Health Department, and has welcomed the presence of the
Borough women inspectors at its consultations (which have been held on
Monday and Thursday afternoons).

Through the courtesy of the Hon. Secretary, Mr. H. Peter Bodkin, I have been supplied with the following particulars as to the attendances at the tuberculosis dispensary, and other work done there during the year.
