DIPHTHERIA.
From this disease 37 deaths took place, or 7.7 per 1000 of the
total deaths, and 0.15 per 1000 of population. The proportions
in all London being 11.2 and 0.22 respectively. The
decennial average in St. Pancras is 8.8 per 1000 deaths.

remove cases of Diphtheria into their hospitals, but these cases
are taken in by the general hospitals.
WHOOPING COUGH.
There were 144 deaths from this cause, or 30.0 per 1,000 of
total deaths, the decennial average being 38.5 per 1,000; per
1,000 of population the proportion is 0.59. In all London, per
1,000 deaths the proportion was 31.2, and per 1,000 of population
0.61.
