Battersea these services are provided from the boiler plant in the
adjacent baths establishment which also serves the needs of the
personal cleansing station and the adjacent County Court and
Mortuary. So far as disinfection is concerned, the demand for
this service has shown a steady decline over the years and the
equipment at Battersea can cope adequately with the present need.
After full consideration of all the relevant factors it was decided
that the Battersea station would be the more suitable in which to
concentrate these services and to close the station at Tooting.
There is an increasing demand for special laundry services and
it will be necessary to supplement the equipment at Battersea to
meet present needs and this can be done by the transfer of the
Tooting station equipment to Battersea.
