Legal Proceedings
During the year, legal proceedings were taken by the Council in
five instances in connection with the abatement of nuisances.
Drainage Work
Plans are required to be submitted to the Council in respect of
all new drainage work, or any reconstruction, alteration or repair
of existing drainage systems, for approval under the Drainage
Byelaws. The actual work on the site is supervised by technical
assistants in co-ordination with the public health inspectors.
During the year 1,563 tests were carried out in connection with
drainage installations and 23 connections were made to the
Council's sewers.
