TUBERCULOSIS
Notifications: The total number of new cases which came to
the notice of the Department during 1950 was 671 compared with
694 in 1949.
The sources of information regarding the 671 new cases were
as follows:
Primary notifications on Form A 481
Notifications from H.M. Forces 7
Unnotified at death 24
Transfers from other sanitary authorities 159
Total 671
Deaths: The number of deaths certified as due to diseases of
a tuberculous nature was 146.
Particulars of the new cases and deaths during the year, classified
tiy sexes and age groups are given in the following table:
